Marker Sketches

Image Date

Project Description

I don't recall this assignment; most of my life drawing classes used pencil/paper, sometimes colored pencil to capture lighting. I'm assuming the goal here was just to capture the binary "what is in shadow; what is in light?". Most of the drawings show harsh and extreme lights, so this is probably the case.

Technologies Used

Life Drawing, Marker Rendering

Other Notes

These are some of my earliest "good" drawings. The stuff that comes before this often looks juvenile, with lots of attention to detail and line, but nothing that ever looks "artistic", or even captures the subject matter. Many of these drawings look much better than what I'd assume I could draw today. I tend to think that my "eye" is better than my "hand", and I think this series really starts to showcase those new skills.
